About The Photographer

This website is a nonprofit attempt to share what I consider the very best of my photos from travels spanning 130 countries over 28 years. I am Peter C Lukens. A scientist by training who developed a love of travel and travel photography during work trips. From there, my interest in digital photography and cameras has grown steadily.

In 2020, two years into my ALS diagnosis, I bought my first drone (a French Parrot Anafi) and started to shoot video as well as stills. This opened a door for me as a photographer and as my mobility declined, my photography skills took off, quite literally. If you can visualize a 3D scene in your mind, the drone can go there!

My story is also intended as an inspiration for those with ALS, or any debilitating condition. Don’t let your dreams be derailed by a diagnosis. Where there is a will, there is a way. While the adventure of hiking to a remote location in a third-world country to get a shot of rare flora and fauna, or one of the Seven Wonders of the World, has been replaced by sitting in a wheelchair and sending up a drone to capture the shot I want, the result is just as rewarding. Keep going until the wheels fall off.
